Itinerary description

Leave the hotel by turning left to the church. Go past the church entrance and down to the path. Stay on this path until you come to a restaurant and some other buildings. Cross the road here (see waypoint photos) and begin a gentle climb up the valley on 18A toward Pradopiazza. There will be a couple of times the path spills out onto a rocky floor. Pick your way across these to pick up the trail again. You will see red and white trail markings on rocks. Eventually you will come to a signpost that directs you to cross over to the right side of the rocky stream bed and begin a fairly steep ascent with switchbacks. You will cross a wooden bridge shorty after you reach the summit. Continue on the path until you come to a junction. Turn left and cross a beautiful meadow. Turn left at the next sign post and cross a narrow bridge and go through through a stile. Keep close to the fence through this area, emerging at another sign post. There is a dairy down to the left where you can eat as well as two other Refugio’s at the end of this trail. Turn right here and go through another stile. Continue on the trail until you reach the Hotel Hohe Gaisl shortly. This is a beautiful meadow plateau surrounded by stunning peaks.
