Itinerary description
Here is the section 6 of the LMT.
This part of the LMT trail passes through Qozhaiya valley (وادي قزحيا ) where the monastery of Mar Antonios (دير مار أنطونيوس ) is located, and the Qannoubine valley, home to many historic monasteries and hermitages.
Be careful there are several kind of agressive dogs beforeMar Antonios monastery.

In fact this trail is part of section 6 and 7 of the LMT. We came from Ehden, hiking it in the inverse direction. The descent from Ehden to the river is technically challenging and requires quite a lot of time. The scenery is awsome.

We tried to do this hike from several starting points-it’s without a doubt the worst maintained section of the LMT. Overgrown, rubbish filled. LMT needs to seriously fix this or find an alternate trail.

Beautiful hike, especially up to Mar Antonius Monastery, if you leave early morning from Qannoubine Monastery. I didn’t find it as strenuous as difficult as rated here; I did it all in less than 5 hours walking (not counting stops) and I think that experienced hikers won’t take longer. There’s a little mistake in the track after Mar Antonius, the LMT now stays on the north facing side of the valley, which is much shadier hence easier to hike, and only goes on the other side further up. I just followed the LMT marks all the time, so I guess it has changed path since this hike was recorded in Wikiloc.
