Itinerary description
Superb. Stunning views. This hike reaches my top 3 in Lebanon. It starts in Falougha (Sohat-Nestle water), and end at the lovely square of Mtain municipality. We go down the hills lakes and a pine tree forest on an agri track to reach a wadi that we march along. From there most of the hike is on a rocky trail in an oak tree forest down till the footsteps of Mtain. You are now good for a steady ascent of +/- 1h30. You can finish with a good lunch at Khairallah restaurant at the square .
Moderate to difficult (more difficult if you do the section the other way around). Blazed all the way but not always easy to spot. Hiking shoes and sticks essential.
Please keep nature clean. Hike it, Protect it #LMT

Hi Oliver,
Thanks for the very good description. I plan to visit Lebanon in July and I was wondering if this is a good time to do the hike. Is it too hot up there?
Also, you mention this hike is one of your top 3. Could you please recommend me also some more good hikes in the area?
Thanks.
Dimitris
Hi Dimitris, thanks! It’s gonna be hot indeed. There are hikes with sections in the forest (around 1-1,500 m altitude) where you can have 1-2 degree less. Check for Jabal Moussa Nature Reserve (north of Beirut) and Chouf Biosphere (south). Both have websites and guesthouses. I have few hikes there on my page. I am also now blazing trails between Batroun and Tannourine. Super nice along the River. I posted few recently
Thank you very much Olivier!
