Itinerary description
Bistrica is small village situated in Petrovac na Mlavi municipality, known by large number of water mills and and rolling mills (valjavica is Serbian word used to describe place used for rolling cloth). The oldest preserved mill is Tomašević Brane, as evidenced by the preserved Turkish deed from 1819/20. years.
Bistrica is perhaps the most famous as the birthplace of Dragutin Tomašević, the first Serbian marathoner and Olympian 1890-1915.
