Itinerary description
I start on Livadi beach, heading to Chora and then descend to Tsigouri Beach.
I ascend back to Schinoussa village and head to Gerolimionas cove, following the paved road, towards Mesaria and Fikio beach. The western turn to Gerolimionas beach is marked with a wooden sign.
The trail to Gerolimionas is abruptly stopped at its lowest end by a barrier constructed with a pile of rocks to deter the movement of goats. One day the barrier was partially destroyed by hikers, and the next it was reconstructed by the goats herder.
If you manage to jump over the barrier, the trail leads straight to the beach. Otherwise follow the rocky wall, always on your right-hand side, till you find a makeshift wooden entrance to the sandy beach.
Gerolimionas beach is an ideal spot to watch the sunset, partially protected from the waves. There is a small wooden platform under the single tree on the beach, where you can arrange your cocktails as the sun sets.
If you plan to head to Gerolimionas cove from Schinoussa village, there is a shortcut that starts from the Gas station and goes over the hill, then descending to Gerolimionas’ makeshift wooden entrance.
Good 4G connectivity all the way, except at Gerolimionas cove.
