Itinerary description
A good introduction/warm up to the Mt. Olympus area, or a great way to kill a few hours if the weather is bad up the mountain.
The trailhead is easy to get to by car from Litochoro, just drive out of town following the brown signs to "Agios Ioannis", and you'll eventually come to a car park, with trail starting over a stone bridge.
After walking past the chapel, and a summer clearing, follow the white squares/red dot tree signs. After 5 mins the trail steepens and zigzags on a mixture of wood floor and scree.
Every while you will have great views to the sea and coast. Eventually you will reach a junction of a major trail, and head right descending slowly through the next valley. You may catch glimpses up the hill to the peaks of Mt Olympus. Further along take a right fork and eventually you will arrive back at the start.
The timings should be shorter since we stopped on various occasions due to a foot strain.
