Itinerary description
The trail takes you from the road between lake Ohrid and lake Prespa up to Magaro peak, one of the highest peaks in the region. From the higher parts you have great panoramic views, and you can see both lakes.
The trail is well marked, and technically not difficult. The biggest challenge is the steepness of the slope, with few moments of respite. The ground is a combination of soil and rocks.
At the waypoint marked 'Intersection' you can go left or right. Either path will take you to the top. The left path seemed more challenging, so it may be the better choice for the way up. The right path has the better views.
The first one third of the hike is through the forest, which provides continuous shade. After that you'll be out in the open, with nothing to protect you from the elements. High up it can be cold and windy. There is no food, water, or shelter anywhere along the trail.
