Linde-Kurtenbach-Delling-Linde 13 km

Great hike in the Bergisches Land with great views, river valleys of the Ommerbach and the Olpebach, meandering streams, forests, timber-framed houses, and quietude. Hike on quiet asphalt roads, field tracks, and smaller tracks in forests. In a few places, tracks can be muddy. You can find something to eat and drink near the starting point in Linde, in Delling, and about 350 meters from the waypoint K31 (Landhaus Fuchs). Starting point is at the bus stop in Linde (near the holiday home we stayed), where there is also parking at the nearby church.
You first walk along the road to Frangenberg and then descend towards the Ommerbach valley. In the valley you take a path through nature reserve Waldmeister-Buchenwald back up the hill. You then follow the ‘Zur Ommer’ road to the hamlet Kaufmannsommer, in the Ommerbach valley. You climb the hill across pasture and take a path with a view along the valley. You cross a forest and the meandering Ommerbach, and then arrive in the hamlet Kurtenbach with a cluster of farms. You go up the hill along the young Ommerbach towards to Pferdskopf hill at about 300 meter. When exiting the forest above Kurtenbach you see the former monastery Ommerborn on the right. Up on Pferdskopf you take a path down to the Olpebach valley, and walk along the stream to the hamlet Hembach. Here you follow the asphalt road to Delling, a picturesque village with timer-framed houses around the meandering Olpebach. Close to the church is a restaurant. You take a path past the church and follow the valley to Schultheismühle and then on to Olpermühle. Near Kolhgrube you take a path opposite the Hermannsquelle, crossing the Olpebach. You follow the Olpebach a bit further and then take a small path through the forest up the hill to the hamlet Bosbach. At the hamlet you follow the minor asphalt road to the K31. You have a good view here, also towards Linde. You walk a short while along the K31 and then take a field track towards Linde. Close by this turn-off is another restaurant (usually open on Monday), at Unterbersten. You follow the field track a short while, and then take a path down into the valley. You cross a stream, and then follow the stream along a sometimes muddy path to the Ommerbach valley. Here you follow a larger track to Müllersommer and then a small path and then the road up to Linde.
