Itinerary description
Greate hike! It`s a combination of the part of Nikoloz Romanoff trail (blue) and the Following wildlife traces trail (yellow). You can walk this path without haste with two nights. At the beginning of the journey, it`s better to stock up on water or have a filter, because the spring below are just a river, there is garbage nearby and the water does not look very good. The first campsite is Lomismta Shelter. There is a great spring about 200 meters away it. From the campsite to the top of Lomi Mta a little over an hour, the hardest climb goes directly from the campsite, further - it`s easier. A wonderful and peaceful view opens up from the top. You can walk to the church, it will take about 15 minutes from the top. Then part of the path is repeated back along the path to the beginning of the yellow trail. It`s wooded, picturesque and simple until the descent begins. It`s really sharp and long, among trees and stones, I advise you to have trekking poles. The second camp is very close after the descent. There is a campfire site, an excellent spring and the ruins of an ancient fortress, which you can climb in the morning. You need to bypass the cliff from the northeast, the path is easy to find. You will have to climb a little to the top, but it's worth it. The exit from the park from the Kvabiskhevi side is about 50 minutes from last campsite. There is sign with the taxi phone number at the exit. A taxi to Borjomi costs 7-9 $.
