Itinerary description
Loop walk starting in Lexden and walking across Hillyfields and Cymbeline Meadow to West Bergholt.
From West Bergholt follows alongside the River Colne before heading north to Fordham. Excellent lunch in the Three Horseshoes.
Loop around to the south to Ford Street and another pub opportunity at the Shoulder of Mutton. Then back along the Colne for a short while, crossing the river and heading towards The Cricketers at Fordham Heath before crossing the A12 and back to Lexden via the Crown for those who still have a thirst!
Sounds like a pub crawl but you don't have to go in them all, at least you have a choice, but the Three Horseshoes was easily the best of the bunch.
