Itinerary description
Waypoints
Campsite at waterfall Cascada de Santa Rosa
This waterfall originates at a spring so has water all year round. There is a crude campsite here and small cave.
Major Fork
This connects a main trail that heads down the mountain to Potrrero or Llanos de Fragua. A short distance up the trail the left you will find a road and access to an Ecoturistco Park. There is also a motocross area with bridges and jumps.
Side exploration up to summit
This is a lesser summit with higher summits beyond but this does have good views and is a good place for a break
Major fork
The fork to the left heads down towards Portrero but also has a side trail along the side of the ridge that connects to a saddle with access to Llanos de Fragua. This is the route we have usually taken into this area and does not cross private land. If you follow the left fork be very careful to look for the fork along the base of the ridge as it is hard to see and you can end up dropping into the valley quite far.
