Itinerary description
Parking in le Châble, take the cable car to Verbier, then to Ruinettes. Easy walk to Cabane de Mont Fort. From the cabane few hundred meters in the direction of les Attelas. At the next signpost there is an unmarked and poorly visible path towards le col du Mont Gelé. I missed it obviously and started into the pierrier right away. The ascent gradually becomes pretty steep. Steer to the left of the pierrier. The path is infrequently marked with cairns but on the way up they are not quite visible. Still, before getting to the steepest part of the ascent make an effort and find a path (there are at least two) - you'll appreciate the footholds, however poor. From the col the path to the summit is somewhat easier to follow. Return by the same route.
