Itinerary description
We are 3 semi-experienced hikers with one who is very nervous on unstable ground. This hike made her very unhappy. It starts with a very steep trek through the woods for 1.5 hours. Then, a nice hike until a terrible scramble down, using chains for a handhold.
We stopped for a wonderful lunch at Solalex, then a long uphill that was hard on the legs, but not at all technical.
There seems to have been a couple of avalanches last winter, that caused the trail to have been moved a bit. So, near the last part was also a tough, steep, loose rock scramble. It took us 11 hours total, with 10 hours of active hiking.
