Itinerary description
A wonderful trail led by our friends Christian and Isolde. The route up is similar to https://www.hoehenrausch.de/berge/seekarkreuz/. Starting from Lenggries train station, we headed out of the village and then on a gently rising track. We then took a steeper path, Sulzersteig through the forest up to Lenggrieser Hütte. The Hütte does super food. Then a steep hike up to Seekarkreuz (1601m). There is a superb panoramic view from here. We returned to the Hütte and then via a long grit vehicle track down the mountain and retraced our route back to the train station.
If we do the trail again, I'll pay more attention to the route back down and more closely follow the website route, which takes a different path that stays separate all the way down.
N.B. Part way through the upward trek, my phone stopped recording, so there is a skip in the map trail. There is also something wrong with the altitude measurement. The start and end are almost coincident so should have the same height.
