Itinerary description

An intermediate but dragging hike. The track is plain sailing from the beginning (gate) to the summit. However, escalating the peak is tiring and may need some rest. Arriving at the top you will find a track on the right going down the mountain. Once down, you'll see a fence. Take a right and continue this path till you see the building (photo). Cut to the right before the building and you'll be on the track to Cascade Leon. After Leon, climb up again and walk your way till you find a passage down to Cascade Cecile. From there just follow the route to Rochester falls and the village of Surinam.
Caution: Bring mosquito repellent and spare socks as you'll have to cross over rivers.

Hello Romain, the gate you see in the picture is the main road and I don't think its private but there are some private property inside with their own gate.

No worries. Just follow the trail down from Piton Savanne. Its an easy but long trail to Leon. Remember to turn right once you've reached the wildlife sanctuary (Private Property) at the bottom.
