Itinerary description
The trail starts at Le Sentier train station. There are several paths to walk up to the top of Mont Tendre. I followed the sign that lead you to Mont Tendre in direction of Croset au Boucher and Cabane du Servan. Then I turned left to find the Refuge Bon Accueil to have lunch. From there I walked across grass fields to the Chalet de Pierre, where I rejoined a marked path towards Mont Tendre. Then follow the marked paths to go down to the other side of the Jura, towards Montricher. Close to Montricher I took sometimes the car road to avoid the steep inclinantion of the path cutting through the forest. The path through the forest is beautiful at sunset and the road has barely no cars. Once in Montricher, take into account that the train passes just every hour and it's a long walk since you arrive to the town and until you make it to the station.

I loved this hike very much! Not difficult slopes, going through forests with views to the valley of Lac de Joux and passing by many alpage farms. Take into account that in Spring the path may be hidden under the grass. The cabin at Refuge Bon Accueil is a cool spot to have a break. It's an old bus from early XX century turned into cabin.
