Itinerary description
A nice mix of walking along the river, through coniferous and deciduous forest, and with several views, especially the spectacular Bonne Dame viewpoint. You walk only bit on roads with traffic.
We walked in October: while the first part of the trail was pretty dry, only the final descent down towards Lavacherie follows a narrow path that is also a small shallow stream. Good shoes are very helpful.
--Until km 5.45 (the viewpoint de la Bonne Damme) you go along L1 trail (yellow rectangle), but you go in the other direction so the signs are behind your back,
--However, from km 2.2 to km 4 (bridge over the river), you follow the L6 trail (red rectangle) mainly along l'Ourthe river,
--and then from km 4 to 4.8 you follow the L7 trail (green rectangle). These two trails overlap with the L1.
--Finally, from km 5.5 (after the Bonne Dame viewpoint) to km 12.4 you follow the L5 trail (blue rectangle), back until Lavacherie. Then you continue on St Hubert street back to the starting point.
