Itinerary description

This hike is from Lakeview Park Campsite to the Cowichan Lake Education Centre (CLEC) along the shore of beautiful Lake Cowichan. Due to trail restoration in progress rather than a single loop, we had to do this hike as two separate loops. Another Wikiloc hike named "Lakeview Park Shoreline - Part 1 (Lake Cowichan) - Retreads 2" completes the hike.

This part of the trail is entirely in the shade of regrown forest with evidence still in place of the huge first growth timber that was harvested here in the early years of the lumber industry. There are peaks of the Lake itself along the trail.

Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 2 C.
