Itinerary description

This trail has a pleasant uphill for the first half of the trail with nice vistas of the Middle Fork of the American River. Near the top there are three short sections that have a bit of steepness. One does need to watch out for mountain bikes coming down the hill as you're going uphill. The uphill portion is exposed to the morning sun and will be hot during the summer season.
