NOTE: The elevation gain of 4,058 feet is highly overstated.. it was closer to 3,200 feet.
Nice hike.. smoky conditions due to fire in Central California (Monterey). Unhealthy air quality in Reno.. so, it was probably unhealthy at Lake Basin.
Temperature reached 100 in Reno.. possibly in the mid 80 / high 80's at Lake Basin altitude.
Round Lake TH is nice.. and easy to find.. trails are well marked.. route has more shade than I had anticipated.
Long Lake and Big Bear Lake are prestine.. and quite inviting for a swim.. but we were on a hike so we passed on that activity.
