Itinerary description
The trail to Lake Anne is a popular hike on Mt Baker. The trail head is just below Artists Point. The trail descends on switchbacks to a meadow and then climbs gradually to the saddle for the first views of the tarn. The close up views of Mt Shuksan and the lower Curtis Glacier are excellent, We continued around the lake and returned. The trail was sometimes wet and muddy but free of snow and ice. The trail across the talus slopes were slow and picky. This was a great autumn hike.

We hiked this at almost the same time as Arby but didn't post yet, only the clouds and wind on the Lake Anne suggest we had slightly different time or date. I was having unusual deja vu about Arby (liang ge ren) and one occasion in the Appalachian Mountains decades ago; then I got notification of Arby's upload as I downloaded my photos, and realized there really is a Mystic Law. Our track and photos will follow soon. This is a wonderful uncrowded location. The weekend ski lodge on the mountain was open and multiple different routes can be taken from there.
It is normally closed now, but was open for good weather, the first change of weather will probably bring snow. The 6:30 sunset brings a fast temperature drop in mid-Oct.
