TOUR DESCRIPTION

Lagoon 69, very close to Huaraz, is located in the Cordillera Blanca in the Huascaran National Park. The starting point is a small trail junction above Laguna Llanganuco at 3950 m (the small trail goes down before a sharp turn to the left). Cars are not allowed to park there, but must be parked down by the lake. The first part of the hike leads through highland meadows with trees and shrubs, along a stream. A wide berth should be given around the free-roaming cows and young bulls. In the background, in good weather, you can see the top of Huascarán (6768 m), the highest mountain in Peru. Afterwards, the way led in serpentines up the mountain. On the way, there is a beautiful view of deep falling waterfalls. At the top you pass a small mountain lake — Laguna Consuelo (4297 m). In the second part of the hike, you walk across a wide plateau, from where you already have a beautiful view of the surrounding snow mountains and the glacier. The last part of the hike is a steep and exhausting ascent to the glacier lake "Laguna 69", which is located in a huge basin and surrounded by enormous glaciers. The lake is even fed by a very beautiful waterfall. In the background, Nevado Pisco (5752 m — left) and Nevado Chacraraju (6108 m — right) are towering. Arrived at the lagoon at 4600 m, I recommend ascending a few meters to the right, because from above you have a more beautiful view of the lagoon. The descent is then via the same route back to the road.

Note: I recommend organizing the tour on your own, i.e., hiring a private transfer from Yungay to take you to the starting point of the hike. A guide is not necessary. The pool tours that are offered from Huaraz are not recommended. A total of 5 to 6 hours should be estimated for the hike, about 3 hours for the ascent and 2 hours for the descent.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TOUR

La Laguna 69, muy cerca de Huaraz, se encuentra en la Cordillera Blanca, en el Parque Nacional Huascarán. El punto de partida es un pequeño cruce de senderos por encima de la Laguna Llanganuco a 3950 m (el pequeño sendero desciende antes de una curva pronunciada a la izquierda). Los coches no pueden aparcarse allí, sino que deben hacerlo junto al lago. La primera parte de la caminata conduce a través de praderas de montaña con árboles y arbustos, a lo largo de un arroyo. Hay que dar un amplio margen a las vacas y toros jóvenes que andan sueltos. Al fondo, con buen tiempo, se puede ver el pico del Huascarán (6768 m), la montaña más alta de Perú. Después, el camino subía por la montaña en forma de serpentina. En el camino, uno tiene una hermosa vista de cascadas profundas. En la cima se pasa por un pequeño lago de montaña: la Laguna Consuelo (4297 m). En la segunda parte de la caminata, se atraviesa una amplia meseta, desde donde ya se tiene una hermosa vista de las montañas nevadas circundantes y del glaciar. La última parte de la caminata es un ascenso empinado y agotador hasta el lago glaciar "Laguna 69", que se encuentra en una enorme cuenca y está rodeado de enormes glaciares. El lago se alimenta incluso de una cascada muy bonita. El Nevado Pisco (5752 m - izquierda) y el Nevado Chacraraju (6108 m - derecha) se elevan al fondo. Al llegar a la laguna, a 4600 m, recomiendo subir unos metros a la derecha, porque se tiene una mejor vista de la laguna desde arriba. El descenso se realiza por el mismo camino de vuelta a la carretera.

Nota: Recomiendo organizar la excursión por la propia cuenta, es decir, contratar un traslado privado desde Yungay para ser llevado al punto de partida de la caminata. No es necesario un guía. Las excursiones en grupo que se ofrecen desde Huaraz no son recomendables. La caminata debe estimarse en 5 a 6 horas en total, unas 3 horas para el ascenso y 2 horas para el descenso.

Die Lagune 69, ganz in der Nähe von Huaraz, liegt in der Cordillera Blanca im Nationalpark Huascaran. Ausgangspunkt ist eine kleine Wegabzweigung oberhalb der Laguna Llanganuco auf 3950 m (der kleine Pfad führt vor einer scharfen Kurve auf linker Seite nach unten). Autos dürfen dort nicht geparkt werden, sondern müssen unten am See abgestellt werden. Der erste Teil der Wanderung führt durch Hochland-Wiesen mit Bäumen und Sträuchern, entlang eines Baches. Um die frei herumlaufenden Kühe und junge Bullen sollte ein großer Bogen gemacht werden. Im Hintergrund kann man bei gutem Wetter die Spitze des Huascarán (6768 m) sehen, dem höchsten Berg Perus. Anschließend führte der Weg in Serpentinen den Berg hinauf. Während des Aufstiegs hat mein einen schönen Blick auf tief fallende Wasserfälle. Oben angekommen passiert man einen kleinen Bergsee – die Laguna Consuelo (4297 m). Im zweiten Teil der Wanderung geht man über eine weite Hochebene, von wo man aus schon einen schönen Blick auf die umliegenden Schneeberge und den Gletscher hat. Der letzte Teil der Wanderung ist ein steiler und anstrengender Aufstieg zum Gletschersee "Laguna 69", der in einem schönen Kessel liegt und von gewaltigen Gletschern umgeben ist. Der See wird sogar durch einen hohen Wasserfall gespeist. Im Hintergrund ragt der Nevado Pisco (5752 m – links) und der Nevado Chacraraju (6108 m – rechts) in die Höhe. An der Lagune auf 4600 m angekommen empfehle ich noch ein paar Höhenmeter nach rechts aufzusteigen, weil man von oben eine noch schönere Sicht auf die Lagune hat. Der Abstieg erfolgt dann wieder über die gleiche Route zurück bis zur Straße.

Hinweis: Ich empfehle, die Tour auf eigene Faust zu organisieren, d. h. ein Privattransfer ab Yungay zu mieten, der einen bis zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung bringt. Ein Guide ist nicht nötig. Die Pool-Touren, die von Huaraz aus angeboten werden, sind nicht zu empfehlen. Für die Wanderung sollte insgesamt 5 bis 6 Stunden veranschlagt werden, etwa 3 Stunden für den Aufstieg und 2 Stunden für den Abstieg.
