Itinerary description
Beautiful short hike near Huaraz. The lake is not blue as the others. However, it's the view that you should do this hike for. On a (semi)clear day, we could see the whole range of the mountain range, quite impressive. It's also a relaxing spot to have a picknick. On the way you meet the friendly countryside people. This hike can be easily done in half a day.
We took a 25sol cab but you can also take any collectivo for less that is going out in the right direction. There are plenty of collectivo to bring you back at the end.
There are many small trails you can opt for on the way. As long as you go generally in the right direction, you'll be fine. This way you can choose between the road or take shortcuts with steeper inclination. Beware of the odd protective countryside dog.
