Itinerary description
Usually this trail starts from the Rio electrico bridge however when the water is high you are allowed to walk through El Pilar hosteria.
This involves getting a transfer to the trailhead for $1,500 pesos. This is advertised as Rio electrico.
This trial would be better done in reverse so you don't have the mountain to your back through the second half of the trail. But it would be tricky to arrange a transfer back from El Pilar / Rio electrico. And it would probably be expensive. On the other hand the morning transfer to Rio electrico is cheap and easy to arrange.
When you get to the top make sure you go down to the lake and around to the left for some spectacular views.
