Itinerary description

From Pila, take the chairlift to Lake Chamolé. It's a short walk to the lake from the station. Of course, you can also bike from Pila to the lake.

Once at the lake, start towards Alpe Comboé (follow the signposts at the lake). You will descend sharply into a valley with a farmstead and a church. There is also a colony of marmots in the vicinity.

From here you can ascend to Becca di nona, but we only got to the foot of it before turning back, again towards the lake - but taking a different path.

Once the step ascent to the lake is done, follow the path leading to Eremo di San Grato (St. Grat's hermitage). From here onwards it's a constant descent. You will eventually come at a gravel road: you can either go on it, but it's quicker to follow the route markings which cut the wider road-bands short.

From the hermitage, it's a straight 30min walk back to Pila.
