Itinerary description
Lady Musgrave Island is located 100km north of Bundaberg, on the southern Great Barrier Reef, surrounded by a 28ha coral lagoon. Its only a 5km walk around and across the island but it is so interesting that you'll want to do it several times. On our visit , we took a 2 hour boat trip from Burnett Heads to the island and booked a 3 night stay in the National Park Camp Grounds to fully enjoy the experience. Beware that the island is over run with bird life and there will be bird poop everywhere! From October to April you will be able to watch the turtles lay eggs and hatch along the shoreline. If you enjoy snorkeling, you will be in paradise as the lagoon is teaming with fish and coral. As long as the weather is fine you wont regret this trip.
