Itinerary description
Ordnance Survey Discovery Sheets 74 and 75.Take the R665 heading west from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary towards Ardfinnan and turn left onto the R671 (signposted Dungarvan/Youghal/Ballymacarbry). Take the second turn left, and the walk commences at the entrance to the forest on your left at S184 193.
The walk may be shortened.by continuing on past the Castle entrance and entering the forest just beyond a bridge where the road swings to the right.
Allow about 4 hours for the 14 kilometers involved. The most suitable spot for lunch is at the cairn on the summit of Lachtnafrankee as there is little shelter available after that.
