Itinerary description
The climb is pretty gradual at first but becomes steeper and more difficult after about an hour of walking. You've got to be careful with your footing in some places and the pace can be slow. There are snowy areas to negotiate before you crest the hill and get a look at the lake. I highly recommend having trekking poles as an option. The work getting to the top is worth every calorie. The views are amazing in every direction. Climbing down is slow going so don't wait too long. You definitely don't want to get caught up there in the dark.
