Cette traversée est un classique de la randonnée au Mont Liban. Le sentier est long de 12 Kms. On pourrait le marcher soit du Nord-Est (Majdel Tarchich) au Sud-Ouest (Falougha, à l'endroit indiqué comme étant le premier où le drapeau du Liban a été hissé), soit dans le sens opposé.
Un peu au Sud du sommet du Mont Knaïssé (point "K05 Summit") le sentier quitte à un moment la route carrossable pour aller à un point qui surplombe la Békaa, où il y a en outre des ruines romaines. C'est une option intéressante mais ce n'est pas obligatoire.
This traverse is a classic of hiking in Mount Lebanon. The track is about 12Km long. It could be walked either from North-East (Majdel Tarchich) to South-West (Falougha, place where the first Lebanese flag was raised), or in the opposite direction. The suggested starting point (waypoint K00 col) is at 1700m alt, then the track goes sharply up to waypoint K05 Summit (at about 2090m, then the track is downwrds and flat till the end (waypoint K20 Flag) at about 1580m.
A little to the South of the summit, the track leaves the dirt road at one point to lead you to a standpoint over the Bekaa, where you can also admire some roman ruins. This diversion is optional.
