Itinerary description
La Ruta Del Condor starts about a 30 minutes drive north up a windey dirt road from the town of Belen in Boyaca, Colombia. We did see public buses on the road that passed the trail head in both directions, but our guide didn't think they were too frequent, maybe 3 times a day. We went on a Sunday, and because that's a market day, there may have been more busses than during the week.
Parts of the trail follow ancient muisca foot paths. It can get super windy, and also rainy. Wear shoes that are good for wet terrain.
The first part of the return was a bit of a scramble and guess work back up and along the mountain ridges.
Condors have been reintroduced here, so you may see one. We did. We also saw eagles.
It was a beautiful hike.
