Itinerary description

English (castellano debajo):
First things first. Hope you enjoy chains as you will have lots of them in this hike.

We started the way in la Fétiuere parking. There were quite a lot of card but there are different parking spots (all of them free). Right at that point there is a restaurant in case you need it.

We followed direction chalet d'Oche and soon we saw there were various forks where it is not very clear where to go. At the end we realized that all of them will end up in the same place. it's just that some are steeper and some others longer. Even with that, we doubted few times and we always decided to keep going up. All that first section has grass and earth, quite confortable, although always going up.

Once you arrive to Chalet d'Ochet (40 mins) there is a fountain and from there you keep on going up direction col de Reboillon (30 mins). Following the same trail and in another 30 mins you will reach the shelter, but not yet to the peak. From the col to the refuge and even after everything is steping in rock and stones. This last part is the most difficult one. There are some sections where chains are not really necessary but some other where (for me) are essential. (https://www.chablaistopos.com/la-traversee-de-la-dent-doche-en-toute-securite/)
The last 200 m going up are quite steep and full of chains up to the cross where the peak of dent d'Oche is (20 mins). The views from this point are quite amazing, although it really depends on the weather.

The descent is not technically complex although it depends on the visibility. There are some chains to help even in a section that is very flat but you have to cross the hillside which is not very easy.
Once half way down, to the left you have great views to Léman lake and to the other side the chalet where you started to go up. This is back green again and there is an extensive plain where we found more than 50 alpin goats. There are two options (not very clearly marked). Start descending towards lake Léman (you go round the mountain via château d'Oche abd portes d'Oche to end up in lake la Case). The other option is to descend directly towards the chalet and go directly to the lake la Case (avoding this going up to the château). This second one is the onw we chose due to the weather. The whole descend is very green, with grass with no rocks anymore the rest of the trail.

After Lac de la Case we went direction Col de la case d'Oche, walking through the mountain ridge until Arête nord de Pelluaz. Here you can go up and go thorugh another higher ridge or go directly towards Pré Richard.
We diceded to go up till Pointe de Pelluaz (10 mins) and follow the nice and easy trail until we found the cable car. We found the ski slopes and from this point to the parking we continued all the descent on them.
The last meters we took the road although there is a posibility to do it using a mountain trail... if you can find it! (at this point the signaling is not great either). For your reference - https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/dent-doche-et-chateau-doche-29243370

There are no fountains other that the first one mentioned so it is highly recommended to bring enough with you as well as adecuate footwear.

Castellano:

I have followed this trail  verified  View more

Thank you for this trail, it was the first time ever I went hiking by myself and with your guide I could follow without a problem. fantastic breath-taking views, I would say its level is difficult because of the chains, steep route coming up and down, but it was all worth it.
I would have skipped the ski slopes part.
It was very well indicated and description was very precise, easy to follow. Thank you

Sorry but mention that it s not hard and the time doesn’t correspond of the reel time… so please mention that it s very hard , with “cheminée” in French and vertical passage. But of course it s wonderful! Thanks.

The time is the time that the telephone calculates, so it's automatically calculated and it's real. I did it in 5 hours with some stops and taking pictures. Actually 12 km in 5 hours is not fast at all.
Regarding the difficulty, I agree that it's difficult to measure as what might be easy for somebody could be super hard for another person. That's why I mentioned the first thing that there are lots of chains. Also, it's mentioned in the description that could be a couple of sections more technically challenging. So, some easy sections, some other moderate and a bit challenging; which overall makes it moderate.
