Itinerary description
The whole trail is not official but partially follows E4. Can be categorized from easy to moderate due to a couple of ascents and crossing of a landslide which ruined the path. On the way you can visit mouflon sanctuary as well as in the right season enjoy quite a few orchards on the way and have a rest in the shade on Platania picnic site.
TERRAIN: mostly gravel dirt car roads, some forest paths and a couple of short parts of concrete roads.
SEASON: can be walked in summers as well, there is shade at least on half of the trail however it's still better in the late afternoon. In winters there might be some snow and in spring the streams may erode the trail here and there.
SIGNS: not many signs only those indicating E4. No resting places apart from the picnic site.
KIDS: it could’ve been possible to go with kids as small as 4-5 yo if not for the landslide part which is actually close to the beginning of the trail, in this case min 10 yo is required. Alternatively you may walk just part of the trail starting from Platania.
There are plenty of parking places at the trail start along the road.
