A beautiful route to contemplate the best views of Kyoto. The tour starts from the Ginkakuji gate, taking the street on the left in the direction of the torii and turning right without passing under the torii. From there a continuous rise to the viewpoint, right in the center of the large kanji that lights up during the festival with fire. The views are breathtaking, and from there you can see all of Kyoto, Osaka in the distance and even the sea on clear days. It is better to go in the morning when the sun is on your back to take pictures. If you want it is not necessary to continue since the views do not improve and you can go back down the same path. Round trip is about 50 minutes and about 230 meters of altitude.
If you continue you reach the top of Daimonjiyama, with good views, and from there you take the path of the Isshu Trail, getting into a quiet forest and almost nobody with the accompaniment of birds. It's all very marked, I took one of the options, but you can take other detours to Nanzenji to visit it.
I arrived at Nanzenji by a slightly longer path to lengthen the road, and as I had already visited, I continued along the aqueduct until arriving at Keage Incline, an old road that used to take boats between Lake Biwa and Kyoto during the Meiji period. . In spring here the cherry blossoms are spectacular. It can end up in the Keage metro. Without a doubt an ideal excursion to get away from the typical places of Kyoto.
