Itinerary description
The village of Kuzun is located in Gusar district, Zindanmurug administrative territorial unit, on the bank of Gusarchay, in the Gusar sloping plain, in the foothills. Kuzun village is more than 500 years old.
There are several ideas about the origin of the name of the village. According to some reports, the name "Kuzun" is related to the name of the Kas tribe of the Lezgi people. According to other sources, the oikonym "Kuzun" means "kazen" (mountain ridge, plateau, pass), which is used as a geographical term in Turkic languages. Also, since the main occupation of the village has been sheep farming since ancient times, some say that the name of the village is derived from the word "kuz" (lamb's bed).
Previously, the village of Kuzun was located in the so-called "broken village" or "old village" at an altitude of 150 meters, far from the current area.
