It is the Japanese "Camino de Santiago". A hiking trip full of lush vegetation and 100% humidity (but don't be scared, it has its good rewards and is bearable). The Kumano Kodo is twinned with the Camino de Santiago, in such a way that if you do both, they give you (either in Santiago or in Nachi at the end of the route) a very special compostela the "Dual Pellegrim", which we obtained in the pilgrim's office in Santiago. To do this you must ask for the credential (we asked for it and they sent it to us by mail along with a map) and be sealed by the many small temples that are on the way.
The track is relatively easy to follow. I say relatively, for several reasons:
1st. Because although the route is not poorly signposted, more detail is lacking in the signs. This lack of detail can be confusing.
2nd. When we made it, in July 2019, there was a variant due to a collapse on the original road. Anyway it was a stretch of about 4 or 5 km nothing more and we had no problems.
Another important detail, the first route may be a bit long, but there are very few accommodations (most private). Another detail is that we did 3 days of route, instead of the original 4 (although each one begins where it best suits him), that is, we did not do the first section that goes from Kii Tanabe to Chikatsuyu.
Our stages were:
1st Chikatsuyu - Hongu Taisha
2nd Hongu taisha - Koguchi
3rd Koguchi - Nachi Taisha
Following this track there are no problems, it is a wonderful route and it brings back memories full of good times, through dreamy places and the people of the place.
ENCOURAGE already for her.

Hola.
