Itinerary description
Park your car at the very end of the road Lapena, at the restaurant is more than enough space.
Take the rough winding gravel/boulder-road up… prepare for a serious climb (but never difficult, so just take your time and rest at the nice vistas you’ll encounter on the way up.
After about 50 sharp curves, you come to a rope-way (just for goods ;-)), but once you’ve reached that point it’s easy sailing!
The road is fairly level and after a couple hundred meters you come to a resting place where you can get some refreshments, foods and even a bed for the night.
To get to this point it will take you about 2-2,5 hr.
To get to the Great Lake (Krnsko Jezero) just follow the trail, you can’t miss it.
Enjoy the fantastic scenery, the sheep, cows, donkeys, pigs and offcourse all the non-domestic wildlife (especially the butterflies are very friendly here :-D)
Be sure to take some bread for the fishes… the millons of small fish will fight for every crumb!
You can walk alongside the lake and from theee continue up the KRN (another 3hr upwards) but we didn’t do that and -after a nice rest- went back to the restaurant for an ice-cream, took a small detour to a small lake just below the back of the restaurant and from there went back down.
