The Stadium

It was constructed during the 2nd Century A.D. The stadium has a U-shaped plan and had seven rows of seats which would have accommodated around 6000 spectators. It was used for the sports of the Hellenic Pentathlon and for chariot and horse races related to the cult of Apollo since the Archaic period, as indicated by ceramic figurines found in the sanctuary. The Stadium was used until the end of the 5th century A.D.
