Itinerary description
Nice and relaxing hike/walk around area of Koukoulion village in Zagori, visiting all major stone bridges.
0,0km at 900m - Koukoulion. Starting from the parking on east enterance to the village, passing through the village to the west.
1,5km at 820m - Koukouli steps. Down to the river (dry in autumn) with the steps and right to the path until bridge of Missiou.
2,5km at 750m - Bridge of Missiou. For a moment back with the same path, but after passing nex to Koukouli steps, trail continues by the river to the bridge of Kokkorou.
4,4km at 730m - Bridge of Kokkorou. From the bridge, trail follows local road for about 100m until tiny path going up on the left side (is not very well vissible, but has some very old sign that is helpful). The path goes steep up through beautiful dense Zagorian forest. Following signs to Kipoi, trail reaches famous Kalogeriko bridge.
6,8km at 740m - Kalogeriko bridge. Three section bridge, probably the most recognizable Zagorian bridge! Trail follows the local road until eneterance of village Kipoi.
7,4km at 745m - Bridge of Kontodnmou. Just before entering village, trail turns left by the river and passes to the other side with Kontodnmou bridge (last stone bridge on the route). Last part of the trail is a mild climb through forest until meeting local road to Koukoulion.
8,9km at 890m - Local road. Last 500m done by the road to reach parking area in Koukoulion.
Level is easy for a hike. I could mark it as moderate walk as well, but just for some forest sections after Kokkorou bridge, I mark it hike. Amazing views all the way, tipical Zagorian landscape with bridges, villages, mountains and canyons.
