Itinerary description
Kotuts ( Կոտուց ) is a mountain with the height of 2061 m in Ararat province, Armenia.
Some information about mountain Kotuts and this trail:
--- Kotuts is steep mountain andd all the ways leading to its summit are quite steep (especially last 1/3 part).
--- We start our hike from Tapi berd fort and returned there again.
Tapi berd ( Տափի բերդ )is 10th Century fortress famous also as Gevorg Marzpetuni berd. ( Գևորգ Մարզպետունի )
--- There are no paths or marked routes there, hiking Kotuts is entering pure wilderness, it's not the ones who are in favor of "comfortable hiking".
--- SEASON is very important for hiking Kotuts, it's located between Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces where summers are too hot and the greenery is dried, so it's better to hike Kotuts in October, November, winter(depends on snow condition) and the BEST SEASON is from the half of April till June.
