This walk starts in the chestnut forest below Komas and follows a dirt track passed the church of Ag Ioanni and then becomes a path through the forest to a clearing with 3 old houses....then you follow the river down into the Kosmitiko gorge. The problems begin when the path becomes very difficult to find and follow after about 40minutes and then you MUST get out of the gorge on the left......we climbed to some caves....and then climbed more on very loose scree and rocks on a very steep gradient....we eventually hit a path 200m up and this took us to a dirt track that leads to the main road Leonidio/Kosmas. Our markers are wrong in places and we will go back in March to try to improve this route.....Best not try it until then....
