Thanks to GIZ Team (headed by Ismail Beka) and many others -

Beautiful landscape and mountains

From Radomire we climbed to the plain north of Korab Mountains. Scattered flocks of sheep, a horse here and there and some sheep dogs. From there we climbed up to reach the pass, from where descended to Caje. Mountain grassland as far as you can see. The trails are mainly used by shepherds, traveling by horse. The horses are carrying some luggage and sometimes the youngest buddy. Great job of the local guides with the sturdy horses. We stayed in family homes - and most of us got a good night's sleep. A traditional meal with homemade cheese, bread, pickles and lamb and some beer at the end of an exhausting and exciting day.
Absolutely recommendable even for less trained mountaineers.

Thanks to the GIZ team (especially Ismail Beka) and many others !!!

Beautiful landscape and mountains - as far as the eye can see

First, it goes uphill from Radomire to the high plateau north of the Korabi massif. The same time 650 meters are not a cardboard handle.
The landscape that opens up is breathtaking. Grazing herds of sheep, shepherds with horses and dogs in front of the partly snow covered peaks of the Korabi massif. The efforts of the first stage are forgotten after a few minutes.
After the lunch break, continue up to the pass over green meadows as far as the eye can see. The paths are easy to find as they are regularly used by shepherds with their horses. From 2130 meters, it then begins moderately along the border with Macedonia until the path then leads quickly downhill to Caje.
The three wiry horses of our two local guides carried a large part of the luggage and sometimes the youngest female hiker (9y) when it was too much. Many thanks to you both, who brought us safely, if rather exhausted to Caje. There we found a warm night camp in private houses - neatly divided - one for the women and the other for the men.
A traditional dinner with sheep's cheese, fresh and pickled vegetables, beef soup with boiled beef and of course lamb. The whole thing with a cool beer rounded the mood quickly lifted and let us forget the hardships.
All in all a wonderfully exciting hike through a fantastic landscape, which is also suitable for less trained hikers.
