Itinerary description

Technical difficulty: 1/5
Physical difficulty: 1.5/5

Update: 04/2023 - trail is still as described below.

Note: On intersection #4, it's recommended NOT to follow our trail, but to turn right instead. There's a wired gate here, and we turned back because we thought it was private property. Turns out it isn't. By taking this shortcut, you can shorten the trail and avoid a pretty boring bit of walking alongside the main traffic road from Šimuni for a few km.

--

This trail is very easily accessible and suitable for all ages and physical conditioning. It takes you along drywalls and grazing flocks of sheep, which are common on the island. The peak also contains the ruins of an old church. It offers a beautiful view of the Pag island, as well as the Velebit mountain towards the east.

Pag is the most barren of all the inhabited islands in Croatia, and this trail reflects that. The trail is not difficult, but it's mostly without shade, and almost entirely on barren, rocky terrain. It's recommended to hike it during the spring or autumn months. Bring lots of water and use protective clothing in the summer. Most of the trail, and the peak especially, can be very windy.

Intersection #4

On this intersection, I recommend NOT to follow our path; instead, go right and then continue straight. The wired gate is not private property, and you can pass freely. It's a a shortcut that will cut out a pretty long and boring part of the trail alongside the main traffic road.
