Itinerary description
Starting from the Bahnhof, we hiked up to Walchensee, a rise of about 240m, explored around the near part of the lake, particularly on the quiet west side and returned via different paths, wherever possible.
On the way back we wondered if we could walk down alongside the hydroelectric scheme pipes, but it turned out it isn't allowed, so we made an awkward traverse along a steep forest bank rather than walking back up the path. This was pretty dangerous and I don't recommend it.
The main road is busy and there aren't any alternatives to walking along it for a fair bit of the route. The road takes the best path though the pass and the path intersects with it frequently.
Other than this, it's a pleasant hike with some good panoramic views and pretty lakes ringed by mountains.
