Itinerary description
I uploaded this route although the route of the Spanish guy of 2015 is better. So don’t follow this route, but his. I uploaded this route to provide extra pictures and height difference information. We want up to the tv towers, which I cannot recommend. He went up above the falls to Ia place I believe is called Tea heaven.
Great walk starting at the Greenview hotel up through Tea plantations with great views of the immense valley and passing the falls (The hotel is a bit 70-ties, but cheap 10.000 per night with swimmpool and stunning views from the balconies on busroute Sigiryia-via Mattale- to Kandy).
We walked all the way up to the second TV-towers, but you can skip that. There
Is no view from the top because it is closed off with gates. Go left instead of up following the big sandy rood letting the volleyballfileld. As suggested above I advise to follow the route of the Spanish fellow which he walked in 2015.
