Itinerary description
amazing hike yet difficult and challenging,
i have climbed kneiseh many time since it is accessible from my home town but it was the first time i decided to go back from the bekaa side.
the hike starts on tarchich zahle road , u can park near tarchich lake, after passing the telecommunication towers the climb toward kneiseh peak starts on the ridge on the mountain, and all the way u have a panoramic view over metn and baabda areas with very nice view over kfarselwen and falougha lakes, mount sannine, bekaa and mount haramoun, it is a very nice climb although steep but it usually gets very windy on the mountain ridge, at the top of the mountain you reach the partially destroyed building of channel 11 , that was a transmission tower for tele liban and was destroyed during the lebanese war, we had a small break, from there we continued to the kniseh (roman temple ruins) , after passing it , the hard part started , it is a difficult descent of 700 m that requires hiking skills, it is not dangerous but challenging, feom this side u have an amazing open view over bekaa valley and anti-liban, reaching the bottom (not far from chtoura) , we took the dirt road that had very nice view of the mountain from the other side and hiked back and up passing by various field and by the vertical 33 vineyard and winnery , till we reached back the starting point
