Gengið á Kistufell norðanmegin af Gæsavatnaleið. Hófum gönguna skammt frá skála við kistufell. Þar er skáli sem Björgunarsveitin Stefán í Mývatnssveit hefur umsjón með. Skálinn er opinn en hafa þarf samband við sveitina fyrir afnot af skálanum.
