Itinerary description
Very interesting, beautiful views, especially on the first day.
Waypoints
Akhieli
Bigger than Amgha actualy. Some places to buy food, I think there is a shower and a sleeping place here too.
Amgha
Not sure if could buy anything to eat. No decent camping place very near Amgha. We continued to Akhieli.
Anatorisghele Pass
A bit hard to actually decide where the pass is. But somwhere here.
bench+table
Table and benches. Nice place to sit and eat something smaller

Camp Akhieli
Pretty nice camping place after Akhieli. No good streams however, only river.
Camp Khalotana
Guesthouse
Could buy cheese and bread. One bread 0,5kg cheese costed 10 GEL
Khalotana Pass
The pass is very wide. We marked its end which is good point to start descending. Camp near the pass or then after some hours (no good places in between). Try to traverse the final ridge to the left from it, like the trail goes.

Possible Camp
First more or less decent place to camp after Khalotana pass (if not near the pass). No good water source nearby!! River not accessible easily.
red+green
Two trails (red and green) cross here, theoretically. There is no path for red though. From now on follow the path up the mountain.
red-green
Trails theoritcally separate (no path for red). Path (green) goes straight and you go left with the ridge.
Water source
Just a stream but water is OK

I did this route a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it even though i didnt have the best weather.
The way down from Kalatanosghele was crazy though. Vegetation increases until a point that for the last km's along the river the trail is covered and one must fight agains plants, trunks and mud.
A ranger in Akhieli told me later that I should have come down through the parallel Tanie valley, where the trail is cleaner.
However. It was big fun.
thanks for the route!
