Itinerary description
Just five kilometres from Sheki, the mountain roads wind up to Kish, one of the oldest surviving villages in Azerbaijan. Wrapped in a thick ruff of lush hillsides, its origins date back to Caucasian Albania.
Gaynar waterfall is located in the territory of the village of Gahnar. Gaynar village is an old abandoned village in Sheki city of Azerbaijan. This village is located next to a river bed in the mountainous area of the Greater Caucasus. At a height of 90 meters, there is a large waterfall consisting of two parts. One of them is called "Gaynar waterfall" according to the name of the village. The village is actually located close to the city of Sheki, but the lack of a modern road makes it difficult to reach the village. It takes 2-3 hours to reach the village on foot.
