Itinerary description

Route starts from Snake Pass lay-by and follows the Pennine Way towards Kinder. The route can also be started from the A624 Hayfield- Glossop road lay-by, which is a more direct route. My route starts from the Snake Pass as the B29 crash site on Bleaklow could also be added to this walk. You will come to the B24 Liberator first on Mill Hill, where both crew members survived with injuries in 1944. Next, you will retrace part of the route, then cross rough ground following faint footpaths onto the debris pool of the 2 RAF Sabres on Black Ashop Moor. Sadly both pilots perished on the 22nd July 1954. This route then goes straight up the hill side which is quite steep to a path, where more smaller debris pools can be found. If the hill is not for you just retrace your path back to the Pennine Way.
