Itinerary description
This scenic walk is for the greatest part along a tar lane also suitable for cyclists, which makes for easy walking.
At the beginning of the lake itself a narrow track, up and down, winds itself along the lake until it reaches this cycling lane, giving you wonderful views.
Dinish cottage is a place where you can rest and buy coffee/tea etc.
After crossing the N71 the track disappears into woodland and becomes a bit more strenuous.
On reaching the next parking on the N71 we descended to the lake to enjoy a lovely view.
From this parking a track leads you back to Muckross House and gardens.
